ARTIST'S STATEMENT:

Often looking at forms that are tenuous, layered, frail, yet
complex and resilient much like our own physical bodies,
I find visual metaphor regarding the seemingly fragile yet
innate ability of the human body to endure or sustain.
In this brooch, I am incorporating the enamel technique
of Champlevé, utilizing an organic lace pattern etched on
a contrasting geometric form, delicately pierced to expose
a hidden interior.
