ARTIST'S STATEMENT: The Landing"contains a series of images and objects that display myself in various states of unease. Interactions between the objects and myself reveal conflicting states of hostility, vulnerability and empowerment stemming from my experiences in society. Each component within this installation occurs as an object as well as an image. Objects suggest a sense of authenticity while the large-scale imagery offers a relation to popular culture and advertising. The unusual wearable objects in combination with the large-scale imagery, confront notions of celebrity, desire, infrastructure, and human interactions.
