Artist's Statement:
My main concern is to express aesthetical values, talismanic objects highlighting personal taste and status for special events. Most of my patterns and motifs are based on Korean traditional customs, conventions, symbolic meanings and significance. They are reflections of my heritage, traditions, customs, personal aspirations, and imaginations. The techniques and methods used in my work are Korean damascening, patterning, fusing and forging with ferrous and non-ferrous metals. These ideas and techniques come together harmoniously and aesthetically in contemporary expressions.
